FAQs

  • No, you do not need to be a current student or alumni in order to apply.

  • If you’re interested in the Cal State East Bay Tech Bootcamps and not sure which program is right for you, we recommend scheduling a call with one of our Student Advisors. They can provide you with more information about the curriculum and the roles you’ll be prepared for in each bootcamp, such as Software Developer (Coding), Cybersecurity Analyst (Cyber), and Product Manager (Product Management).

From there, apply to your program of choice (no prep required!). Next, our Admissions team can help you advance in the process and even help you switch programs if you change your mind (e.g., Coding to Product Management).

  • You do need to provide your own computer for the bootcamp. It can be a laptop or desktop as long as it meets minimum tech specifications. We highly recommend Apple computers for our program, however, it is possible to use Windows with some modifications. You must have at least MacOS 10.15 or newer or Windows 10. Because the bootcamp is live-online, you are required to have a webcam and microphone in order to participate in class.

For specific tech requirements for your chosen program, visit our Online Experience page.

  • We have a long-standing history of delivering high-quality tech education in a live online format. You'll learn in a fast-paced environment with hands-on 1:1 instruction, working closely with both your instructor and peers.

  • To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years old and a high school grad/GED holder by the start date of your intended cohort.

  • Yes, our programs are beginner-friendly. Each is specifically designed for professionals who have no previous experience in the new discipline they're studying (e.g., cybersecurity, web development, etc.). While some background knowledge is helpful, the only expectation is that students have general computer literacy skills in basics like efficiently using the internet/cloud and Windows.
